In fact, particles of a radioactive gold isotope are implanted in tissues to act as a source of radiation in the treatment of certain cancers.

Gold is also used in the treatment of lagophthalmos. In this disease, the person is not able to close his eyes completely, which is treated by implanting gold in the eyelid and increasing the effect of gravity of this disease.

Radioactive gold is also used to diagnose the disease, which is tracked along with a colloidal solution entered into the body in different parts as a beta transmitter.

One of the most important uses of gold is in the field of medical engineering, where it is used to make electronic components and various related equipment. The use of this element in different parts is also a criterion for device reliability.

Gold in dentistry

The use of gold in dentistry faded since the 1970s with the increase in the price of gold, but due to the fact that other alternative metals may be harmful to health in the long term, its use has been popularized again.
